Mechmoum fell
Mechmoum Yasmine

marchand de mechmoumMechmoum, bunch of flowers of fell or jasmine implemented on small stems of palm tree and tied up with a white or coloured yarn.

Fell: Small white odorous flower of a plant of the family of the jasmines

Yasmin: The jasmine, which has a strong smell, it is appreciated to put it in a strand then on the ear while sitted at the shade with friends “taa' ht el yasmina”, under the jasmines.

Taa' ht el yasmina fel leil: Very famous song of Hédi JOUINI

mechmoum fellBut the more appreciated of Kairouan undoubtedly remains the “fell”, particularly in the summer and at the time of the marriage ceremonies.

The Tunisians usually are confused between the fell and the jasmine.

It is an attitude trick that the children could not put the mechmoum in the ear. it is considered bad habit.
