Transportation :
Transportation by rental car for two days. Pickup at hotels in Sousse-Monastir, Hammamet, and Tunis. Among Tunisia 's six airports, two are close to Kairouan : Tunis-Carthage (150 kms), and Monastir (60 kms). Roads connecting Tunis and Monastir to Kairouan are paved and in very good condition; one 100-km part between Tunis and Enfida is a toll highway (2.100 TD or 1.50 euros). Transportation from all Tunisian airports can also be offered by us (5 persons maximum).

How to sign up :
Each description includes details about reservations. More and more owners now have email access in order to facilitate your requests for reservations. IN addition, their personal pages often feature photos of their homes as well as maps to get you there. Reservations are highly recommended in high season or for long visits. A letter of confirmation and a down-payment are often requested by your host, and a contract can also be drawn up. If bringing along a pet, please make sure your host is aware of that fact, and that he agrees to the extra “guest.”

Dinner :

Discover the traditional Kairouanese dishes by watching and helping your hostess as she prepares the evening meal of couscous, brique (flaky pastry), etc.

Evening :

• Participation in traditional customs/rites such as « outiya » or a wedding.

Night :

• Sleep at a hotel or in at the home of your Kairouanese hosts in a lovely bedroom with indoor plumbing

Traditional breakfast of « tabouna » bread, milk, « Raieb, » « Chamia, » « Maajoun, » honey, « hendi, » « flayer, » coffee.

Hints and advice  :
Should your flight be delayed, please remember to alert your hosts. Never forget that you will be staying in a private home that doesn't offer the same services as a hotel. Rooms are cleaned daily.

If you travel with children, some hosts may be able to furnish a cot. Others offer family accommodations (3 or 4 beds to a room), or even entire suites with adjoining bedrooms.
